My cousin, Greg, who is a pastor in civilian life, is now stationed in Iraq in the Army. I sent him a note to see if we could send anything to him for his "ministry." (While he is not a chaplin in the Army over there, anyone who knows a pastor knows that they will do ministry where ever they are even if it is not in their job description.) He sent the following note back to me asking if I could get my Sunday school involved. Since we attend a small church and do not even have 300 people to participate (there are 300 in his battalion), I thought I would ask my other friends if they would help with this project. Please send or give the cards to me if you want to participate and I will send them all over to Greg. I need to send them before Thanksgiving!

"Have each person write a gospel message about how Christmas is really "Good News". Also, a short note of support to the soldiers would be appropriate. Address it to "Any Soldier." There are about 300 soldiers in my Battalion alone (I would be surprised if you were able to send that many, so we'll randomly distribute what arrives).

If they all get mailed at one time it will be easier to distribute them. You could put each card in a separate envelope and then box them up into three or four boxes. Have them mailed by about Thanksgiving so they'll arrive by Christmas.

The city of Starkville, MS did that for this battalion only they each did a care package. Worked well. They'll be doing it again for Christmas. I just want to send the gospel to make a difference there, thus the cards. Just an idea."

Thanks, friends!
Love, Shelley
